अंग्रेज़ी भाषा में Voice का मतलब होता है — "वाक्य में Subject और Object का आपसी संबंध"।
मुख्यतः दो प्रकार के Voice होते हैं:

Active Voice (कर्मवाच्य)
Passive Voice (कृतवाच्य)

यह समझना बेहद ज़रूरी है क्योंकि अंग्रेज़ी बोलने, लिखने और समझने में Voice का प्रयोग लगातार होता है। आइए इन दोनों को विस्तार से समझते हैं।

1. Active Voice क्या है?

जब वाक्य में Subject (कर्ता) स्वयं क्रिया करता है यानी action करने वाला होता है, तो वह Active Voice कहलाता है।

Structure (ढांचा):

Subject + Verb + Object

Examples:

Active Voice Sentence	हिंदी अर्थ
Ram writes a letter.	राम एक पत्र लिखता है।
She is reading a book.	वह एक किताब पढ़ रही है।
They played football.	उन्होंने फुटबॉल खेली।

➡ इन वाक्यों में कर्ता (Ram, She, They) खुद काम कर रहा है। यही Active Voice है।

2. Passive Voice क्या है?

जब वाक्य में Subject खुद क्रिया नहीं करता बल्कि उस पर क्रिया होती है, तब वाक्य Passive Voice कहलाता है।

Structure (ढांचा):

Object + helping verb + past participle (V3) + by + Subject

Examples:

Passive Voice Sentence	हिंदी अर्थ
A letter is written by Ram.	एक पत्र राम द्वारा लिखा गया।
A book is being read by her.	एक किताब उसके द्वारा पढ़ी जा रही है।
Football was played by them.	फुटबॉल उनके द्वारा खेली गई।

➡ यहां कर्ता मुख्य नहीं है, बल्कि जिस पर काम हो रहा है, वह मुख्य है।

3. Active और Passive Voice के बीच अंतर (Difference)

4. Passive Voice में बदलने के नियम

Step-by-Step Process:

Object को Subject बनाएं।
Main Verb का Past Participle (V3) रूप लें।
Tense के अनुसार helping verb लगाएं।
Subject को ‘by’ के साथ जोड़ें।

5. Tense के अनुसार Active को Passive में कैसे बदलें?

Present Simple Tense:

Active: He writes a letter.
Passive: A letter is written by him.

Present Continuous Tense:

Active: She is reading a novel.
Passive: A novel is being read by her.

Present Perfect Tense:

Active: They have completed the work.
Passive: The work has been completed by them.

Past Simple Tense:

Active: John cleaned the room.
Passive: The room was cleaned by John.

Past Continuous Tense:

Active: He was repairing the car.
Passive: The car was being repaired by him.

Past Perfect Tense:

Active: She had written the email.
Passive: The email had been written by her.

Future Simple Tense:

Active: They will make a cake.
Passive: A cake will be made by them.

Future Perfect Tense:

Active: He will have finished the task.
Passive: The task will have been finished by him.

6. Passive Voice के प्रयोग कब करें?

जब कर्ता ज्ञात नहीं हो, जैसे:
- The window was broken. (पता नहीं किसने तोड़ा)
जब कर्ता जरूरी न हो, जैसे:
- English is spoken worldwide.
जब औपचारिक भाषा का प्रयोग हो:
- The rules will be explained later.

7. Passive Voice में ‘by’ का प्रयोग

"By + Subject" का प्रयोग हमेशा आवश्यक नहीं होता। अगर कर्ता स्पष्ट या महत्वहीन हो, तो उसे हटा सकते हैं।

उदाहरण:

Active: Someone stole my phone.
Passive: My phone was stolen. (by someone – हटा दिया गया)

8. Modals के साथ Passive Voice

Structure:

Modal + be + V3

Active	Passive
You should follow the rules.	The rules should be followed.
They can solve the issue.	The issue can be solved.
We must respect elders.	Elders must be respected.

9. Questions में Passive Voice

Yes/No Questions:

Active: Do you like coffee?
Passive: Is coffee liked by you?

WH-Questions:

Active: Who wrote this book?
Passive: By whom was this book written?

10. Imperative Sentences (आदेश)

Active	Passive
Close the door.	Let the door be closed.
Please help him.	You are requested to help him.
Do not waste water.	Let not water be wasted.

11. Passive Voice में ‘Get’ का प्रयोग

Get + V3 भी passive voice जैसा प्रयोग होता है, लेकिन यह informal होता है।

She got promoted.	(Passive form – "was promoted")

12. Passive Voice की पहचान कैसे करें?

Main verb हमेशा V3 (Past Participle) में होती है।
Helping verb (is, are, was, were, has been, etc.) जरूर होता है।
Object वाक्य की शुरुआत में आता है।

अधिक औपचारिक और शालीन भाषा में लेखन।
कर्त्ता के बिना भी वाक्य कहना संभव होता है।

Active और Passive Voice अंग्रेज़ी व्याकरण का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हैं। Active Voice में वाक्य सरल और प्रभावशाली होता है, जबकि Passive Voice में वाक्य औपचारिक और object-केंद्रित होता है। सही sentence formation के लिए दोनों की समझ आवश्यक है।
